review 1: An ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.We first met Gavin and Maria in Forgiving Reed. This second book in the series is about two people finding happiness, comfort, and love with each other. Gavin is a broken man after his divorce, and Maria doesn't think she is worthy of finding her one true love. But these two are just what each other needs. C.A. Harms takes the reader on a journey that is heart warming, gut wrenching, and even hilarious at times. If you're looking for just an all around good book, then I definitely recommend checking out this series and these sexy cowboys!
review 2: When Gavin and Maria met, he told her straight up that they couldn't be more than one night. He made no promises and he attempted no commitments. Gavin is going t... morehrough a lot at the moment and he doesn't want to start a new relationship with someone until he is able to move past everything that is going on in his life currently. He doesn't want to hurt Maria, and thus he pushes her away and tells her they can't have anything more than one night. Unfortunately Maria's heart didn't listen and she fell in love anyways. Maria has had a rough life, especially where men are concerned, and her past experiences have led her to believe she is not worthy of happiness or love. Though she knows Gavin warned her not to fall, she did. She had no choice in the matter, her heart took over and that was it. She sees Gavin's seemingly non-interest as another rejection of her love and it hurts her deeply. Gavin comes back and realizes how he's hurt Maria and also that he doesn't want to keep pushing her away even though his personal problems are not completely solved. Both Gavin and Maria have a lot from their pasts to work through in this story.Finding Gavin was a story of Love, forgiveness, second chances, and moving past emotional turmoil. Both Gavin and Maria have been through so much in their lives, both before and after they meet that each piece shows more of their character and their subsequent issues with trust and love and a host of other emotions. As Gavin and Maria both took their steps to each other, we learned a lot about them and got to watch as they gave in to their feelings and tried to push everything else aside. Finding Gavin was a great addition to the series and I can't wait for the next story. less
