review 1: Althea loves the violin. Unfortunately she lives in Regency England where the violin is not considered ladylike as one needs to raise their arms to play it. A mystery involves the violin given to her by a special deceased friend when suddenly several scary men want to buy(or perhaps steal) her instrument. She has no idea why they way want is, but she enlists the aid of a man she met once years ago as a child, Lord Dommick, who has been terribly emotionally scarred by the war. As they trace the history of her instrument, they eventually fall in love and the violin's history is finally discovered. Good read.
review 2: From the moment I opened this book, I couldn't put it down. I read this book in less than 24 hours. It starts out with Alethea being kicked out o
... moref her childhood home after her brother dies and the estate passes to her cousin. She is sent to live with her aunt in Bath, which happens to ve where her half-sister lives. The story is about trying to discover who is trying to steal Alethea's precious violin that was given to her by a mother figure. Lord Baynard Dommick is enlisted to discover the mystery behind the violin. Its a fabulous read and one I'll probably read again. I'm sad its the author's 1st book but I can't wait for more! less
