review 1: 4 !/2 stars! This is the second in the Circle trilogy and the writing was tight, the action fast paced and the sex HOT. Ryker and Marie are both victims of their past and their love for one another overshadowed by the very things they were put through as children. I enjoyed this book even more than the first one because we get to delve a little deeper into the characters of Ryker and Marie. There was one little twist that made me want to throw my Kindle across the room (it had nothing to do with the main characters) but I immediately picked it up to finish it. Looking forward to more books by Ms. Swafford.
review 2: What the hell did I just read ?!!!!!!After a good start with Circle of Desire this was a complete let down for me and based on the number of 4* rat... moreing this book received, then it seems I read the wrong book.Firstly the heroine Marie,spent 9 years with The Circle but was clueless. This is a 21 year old who grew up with violence & a shadowy group of mercenaries,you either joined them or stick with what you know. Marie has no training or ability to fight....wait she does know taekwondo, she has been training for a year & now wants to go out on missions. Stupid does not even begin to describe Marie's actions.I just could not like her, she continues to do stupid things, if she wanted to join this group, she should have taken a page out of Olivia's book & done some basic training & knowing taekwondo for a year does not help with the kind of guys you going up against!. Why she went to save Ryker I still do not understand as she was nothing but a hindrance to the team, oh & they got caught!!!.Secondly, this is supposed to be a deadly group that has elite training & all that but they seem to come out second best against their enemies. They get broken into & Ryker gets his ass kicked, not once but twice.After the great start I was very disappointed with this one.I was hoping this book would end. Will I read the 3 book, I am not sure as I hate TSTL heroines and especially heroines that do not want to be in a romance. less
