review 1: This one wasn't as bad as I've heard. I agree competely with the weirdness but it's not a bad book. The plot was actually really good and to be honest the book could have been alot longer. lynne's writing seems to be missing something. The emphasis on Ben's "giant manhood" in my opinion was just crazy. I get a guy wanting to take it easy on a girl but the childhood trama and the complex about it as well as the almost fetish like focus made on his size was just bizare. I loved alot of the moments the two of them had together they were really sweet. There is something sweet about two people determined to overcome their past and be happy together that gets me everytime. But then we just keep getting back to the bizare like Wildflower's obsessive need to keep reminders around ... moreabout her attack. What abused woman that is honestly trying to heal and move on would do that? As good as it could have been there were just so many things that made it completely unrealistic
review 2: This is the second book in Carol Lynne's Men in Love series. This one is strictly m/f and another great romance with plenty of eroticism. I like Kate and Ben and I really like how their relationship develops, but there's still something missing. I enjoyed the story and romance, but it still fell short of Ms. Lynne's later books. This is not a bad thing; it just goes to show that Carol's writing has continued to mature and get stronger. The one thing that I've noticed that stands out the most is that her newer stories are much richer in emotions and in the dexterity of her plots. But I am enjoying getting to know the ex-SEAL team whose members comprise the base group around which the series is written. And I'm looking forward to continuing the journey as these men find love in all the right places. less
