review 1: I had assumed that this was going to be a more "early grade" book, but it is a great middle grade story about two issues many students will understand: working to overcome a painfully shy nature and working to overcome a mistake that has been written and then shared via technology. One sister is very shy, and one sister tries to help by writing a story with a negative theme about a classmate. I also love the language/word play as this book has lots of palindromes throughout and listed altogether at the end.
review 2: This is a very realistic book about sisters who are very different from each other. There is a lot of love between them, but also a lot of tension. Pip is painfully shy and Ava isn't. Ava tries to help Pip, and although she eventually does it do
... moreesn't go quite the way she intends and there are hurt feelings and problems to fix along the way. Also lots of interesting wordplay. My students in 3rd-5th grade will enjoy this book and be able to relate to at least one character. less

What a delightful wordsmithing story that focuses on siblings and friendship. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Weston's novel is a delight of wordplay, voice, and character. Truly magnificent middle-grade!

Haven't finished it yet. Might pick up when I don't have a lot of books.
