review 1: Absolutely fabulous read, which I like better than "Silence of the Lambs", "Hannibal" etc. The reason for that is, that I really like the well developed characters in this book, the fast pace of the story itself and the fact that "7th Sin" takes off immediately where "9th Circle" left off. The fascinating interactions between Trey and Darc, Mala and little Janey are very special due to Darc's Asperger symptoms. The authors did a great job giving us all insight into Darc's way of perceiving the world. I highly recommend this book to the not too squeamish, who enjoy intelligent and well written psychological thrillers. The very be st cliffhanger leaves me wanting for more books in this series!
review 2: 7th SinA Gruesome but Engaging ThrillerI loved the eclectic
... moremix of characters from the brilliant but emotionally challenged Detective with Aspergers to his laid back empathetic partner plus the razor sharp mind of the child psychologist consultant and her adorable but complicated foster child. All these nuances and traits give a rich tapestry to the book and endear you to the clever writing of Carolyn and Ben. To go from inside the mind of a psychotic and zealous killer to then explore the fundamental thought processes of someone with Aspergers, further highlights the skill of the writers. As well as a good plot, the characters were the shining magic to me in this novel. It has a good swift pace, surprises, plenty of gore and it definitely left me wishing the next book was available - instantly! I did receive a prerelease copy but it did not effect my opinion in this review. I would recommend it to fans of Patterson or Deaver. less
