review 1: This was the second novel I have ever read, again as a compulsory one during second grade (just after finishing with White Fang). As an animal lover I found this book heart-breaking (I won't say why because I don't want to spoil it). It was amazing to me when I read it to constantly remind myself that the author was Romanian and not foreign. The settings and the characters will emerge the reader in the action of the book making them go through a roller-coaster of feelings. I can honestly thank my primary school teacher for making us read these books, as they helped us mature and become more objective and aware of the world around us, building a much needed bridge between childhood and teen-hood.
review 2: This is one the best children book there are and it is j
... moreustly famous in Romania - since its apparition in the early 1930's it, Fram has become almost a common noun there. The story of the playful and crowd favorite circus polar bear Fram and his fall into melancholia and refusal to perform followed by kids and their parents raising the money needed to send him back to the Arctic and then Fram's reintroduction to life among his kind is just the perfect children book and the illustration done by a famous Romanian painter just add to the power of this book.On par with any illustrated children book in English I've seen less
