review 1: I read this book in less than 24 hours, I was completely enGROSSed. I did think more of a plot was going to develop but I still liked it. It was a real, disgusting dirty, breezy, fun read. Even though the main character was less than conventional and hygienic, I liked her. She just doesn't give a fuck. In today's society we're all about being hairless and immaculate, shiny and pristine and this book is a big 'F**k you' to that. I liked it. :)
review 2: What a delight to be able to start a plot synopsis with "when an anus-shaving accident lands a physically free spirited young woman in the hospital..."Critics were divided on this book... some thought it was an exercise in gratuitious sensationalism, since the protagonist revels in celebrating bodily functions, e... morespecially the more nasty ones. Some thought it was bold and witty middle-finger thrust at our neurotic hang ups about hygiene. I'm going with the latter camp... although it did make me squirm uncomfortably a few times, I was more than a little funny and charming. Definitely not for the squeamish though.And no, I didnt read it in German. less
