Back at the beginning of the year I had decided to take part in the goodreads reading challenge with 30 books, but then after two books I got stuck on the third book and kind of just gave up. Enter months later and I ended up reading a couple thriller novels that brought me to eventually picking up A Merciful Death by Kendra Elliot. From then and now (with a couple others between) I have read almost every novel/novella she has published. I am currently in the middle of finishing off her Bone Secret series as I wait for the release of other novels in her other series I have finished.
All together I have read 11 of Kendra’s novels so far, but of course I still have yet to finish off Bone Secrets. I also must add that the rogue novellas are broken up into three different series and are co-written by Melinda Leigh. Kendra and Melinda split up the writing of each novella and the total number in the series is 9.
Each novel or series follows a male and female character who are either law enforcement or works closely with law enforcement (ex. medical examiner). The characters are trying to solve some crime or deal with a situation, all while a mix of romance does come in at some point. As a fan of cop procedural shows like Law & Order, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, and a few others, these books as fix perfectly into that in written form.
I find them to be enjoyable reads and would recommend them. They probably are not everyone’s cup of tea, but that could be said about mostly anything.
