review 1: 3.5 starsI got used to the new Darth Sullivan in the last book, so it didn't feel as if he was changed for a new one in this book. Now, given that he is not my favorite hero for Merit, I didn't dislike that she made him work for her trust an a second chance. The ending of the book, although a surprise, made me feel confused, Ethan is supposed to be Merit's other half, Morgan has already been discharged and eliminated from the list, and Jonah is just a possible partner, "it" can't be definitive.
review 2: Oh my god...are you SERIOUS?!?!?! WTF is with authors and killing off their main characters?!?! for real if I hadn't read reviews for the coming books I would have seriously chucked this series at the wall then burned it to pieces! I honestly feel let down and ... morebetrayed and I want to punch something. I love reading and I'm an extremely emotional reader who gets very invested in characters. And that is normally a good thing until an author decides to fuck with her readers.Let's start with my thoughts on the characters.Morgan- to use him as a tool to make Ethan jealous was juvenile and made me cross. He is a strong and capable vicious vampire who was turned into a child.Grey House... football jerseys really ?!?! grandpa... I liked him he's awesome Merit..I love this chick she's awesome but needs to grow a pair and forgive Ethan already. Mallory. hate herCatcher like him but not with MalloryJeff love himLindsey love her and LucI'm still feeling ranty and cross like you wouldn't believe. There were so many other avenues the author could have taken with this arc and killing off Ethan was just stupid.I've also noted that most people say not to bother reading the next book because it's just a boring filler so I think I'll save my money and skip to the book after.Here's a tip... don't fuck with the only character keeping people invested in your series because they're liable to walk away from you.even JK Rowling copped it for killing off Sirius and this series is nowhere near that calibre. less
