review 1: A no-nonsense look at what our future (near- or longer- term is up for debate, but coming none-the-less) holds. Eye opening and thought provoking, it both depressed me and then invigorated me (I'm still not sure why, but he did end on a somewhat optimistic note). A must read for anyone that doesn't want to keep their head buried in the sand to the inevitable changes coming to our country/population/world...
review 2: It was a great book on economics. Chris Martenson wrote the book in very simple words and without any over complicated terms. He explains the connection between environment, economics and energy (the three E's) which is also the main idea of the book. Martenson suggests that the way of how people live and life quality will change by getting simple.
... more People will rethink their way of setting the priorities and goals. The books is basically a opinion of the author of what is going to happened with the three E's. It also supplies a lot of evidence for his theories. Even if you won't agree with the author it is still a must read. less
