review 1: This was a great book. It took me awhile to finish it because I got lost in the language multiple times. Not that it was confusing, but it was so beautifully written, I would read it more for the poetry than the plot, get 30 pages in and realize I didn't know what was going on. I especially liked every part in space, as Kiefer wrote about it so well, it's as if he's actually been there. It was a great read that rewards patience.

... morerotagonist's rich inner life of mathematics and emotional difficulty, but after 200 pages, I was pretty ready for a little more than a brief romantic encounter. I did find the exploration of synesthesia to be neat, though. I'm sure that part of it is that I was simply in the mood for something a little more interesting, instead of a meditation on mathematics, language and the poetry of the conflicts of relationship.To the author: keep up the good work - you are smart, so next time don't try to be.
