review 1: I read Virtue Falls first. In that book, Elizabeth had overly rational personality quirks that ignored the subtext of personal interactions. I wonder if this series will be a study in women with Asperger’s. This novella centers on Cornelia, a logic-minded woman with more severe interpersonal defects than Elizabeth. I’m not a huge fan of this series, but I did like this novella and the fun twists it had. 3.5/5
review 2: The Listener (Virtue Falls #0.5) by Christina Dodd is a fast paced, intriguing novella. Cornelia is a bit socially inhibited, a loner who doesn't like to talk. For fun she hacks into people's emails and text conversations. She doesn't know who they are though, and figuring it out is half the fun. When she inadvertently stumbles onto ... morea murder plot via text, she does what she thinks is right and goes to the sherriff - who doesn't believe she's discovered anything sinister. Christina takes The Listener to a surprising conclusion, opening the way for more mystery to come to Virtue Falls.In preparation to read Virtue Falls, I really enjoyed this quick introduction to the town! Cornelia was an interesting, quirky character. We are also introduced to a few more citizens I hope to see more of in future books. In a short space of time Christina drew me in and made me want to know more about Virtue Falls. I will definitely be getting Christina's novel Virtue Falls. less
