review 1: This is a truly refreshing BDSM story after so many glorified abusive relationships masked as BDSM relationships. I love how they heal each other, how they are secure in their role without losing their confidence & their selves.I love that Simon, even though he is a Dom, can listen to Gavin, the sub, who is clearly more knowledgeable in business. I also love how caring he is. He is not a vanilla Dom, but he clearly puts his sub needs before his own. I also love that he is not a Dom who pretends to automatically knows everything a sub needs at first meeting. He even sets rules that Gavin should tell him if there is something wrong in their relationship. And Gavin... finally! A sub with a backbone! How refreshing! I love that even though he is a sub and clearly understands h... moreis role, he is not a doormat. He can stand up for himself, even though sometimes he makes mistakes. With them, I can clearly see HEA. They complete each other and care for each other very much while comfortable in their roles.
review 2: Commanding Acquisitions by Christine d’Abo is part of the 1-800-DOM-Help series from Ellora’s Cave. I thought this one started out a little more lighthearted than the first, but it was no less emotional. The story is a contemporary with just a touch of the mystical surrounding the origins of Club Unfettered and 1-800-DOM-Help.When Simon calls 1-800-DOM-Help, it is originally to make sure it isn’t scam – or so he tells himself. I had to laugh when he finally asks, “Don’t suppose you can find me a sub with a business degree? I’m having business issues too.” Simon was admitting, not only to himself but to someone else, that he was lonely and needed help. It was at that point Ms. D’Abo had me hooked. I love a man who isn’t afraid to admit what he needs. The BDSM is not too intense. Simon is a strict but gentle Dom. He and Gavin are made for each other but before they can live happily ever after, Gavin has to work though a few issues of his own.Commanding Acquisitions was a fast read at ninety-six pages. If you enjoy BDSM you’ll enjoy this title.*Theresa* less
