review 1: At first, you think it is a story about family and sticking together and the POV is first from a young girl, but then it changes to include the family's oldest son newly returned after a war in which he is the only one in the village to survive, and the POV keeps changing from then on...and I completely lost interest, I think I could have loved the story if it had focussed more on Cam and what he went through, the writing style was just not for me.

... morerything has its place. I liked Acton's chapter, LOVED Ban's chapter, and adored Faithful most of all. None of these characters are stock. They are diverse, wonderfully crafted and unique, and plopped in "a fully-realized world." Thank you, Megan Whalen Turner, for making me want to read this book. And thank you, Christine Hinwood, for writing it. less
