review 1: I really could have loved this book, but I could not for the life of me understand the reasoning of Adrian's behavior.SPOILERS?Adrian is going blind, so for the past 3 years he has ignored his wife, hid in town sleeping with whores and such and thats even before the book started. Emily comes to town to confront her husband, because of the lack of child and the fact that her husband has more or less abandoned her, his heir has been tormenting her... so she is coming to get a child to hang onto the property that she has singlehandly managed while he whored his way thru town...She finally manages to find him a slum house he carouses in, while blindly playing cards...he does not even recognize her voice... he thinks she is a woman looking for her husband.. he is such as idiot... more he doesnt realize he is the idiot she is looking for. She pretends to be someone else whom he beds quite easily and with little to no regret, until he thinks he might be falling in love with her and then he immediately thinks oif his forgotten wife and the many excuses that he uses to keep her from finding out his condition or his excuses to cheat adn make her look a fool. He was a blind hero but I am not referring to his lack of sight, it was just him lacking. She would have been better off with his manager whom was really the only one who had contact with her during her abandonment and he could see what a prize she was...she was far too forgiving of his unexcusable behavior and as twisted as it was I would have been pissed at him for cheating on me with me...lol... good read...keep my bp up ...lol
review 2: This creative romance gives the reader a different twist by having the couple married. Emily loves her estranged husband and wants to have him back in her life. Unfortunately to do this she pretends that she is someone else. While she is pretending to be her husbands mistress, she falls in love again with the love of her life. But will have have her back in his life? Are things really what she thought they were when he left her? less
