review 1: Though reading the books were definitely a cross between Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, which made the plot not quite so original (rescuing the princess he falls in love with who was being tortured to find the Rebels/Varden's locations, uncle's house burned down which propels him to fight the Empire, Tolkien's dwarves/elves realm, the Name of Arya which is a cross between Arwen and Leia, the family member who tries to kill the protoganist turning on the king/emperor last minute thus being what is needed to defeat the tyrant, etc);I chose to take this all as one of those fairy tale retelling-type of story, and looking it at that way, thoroughly enjoyed the series. It was fun having the dragons, and I loved Saphira, and I loved the dragon's idea of the starlings dreams: so... moremething I believe is quite a beautiful concept. So I give this series 3 stars, and I highly recommend it to those who love dragons and do not mind fantasy retellings. :)
review 2: AMAZING. I love these books so much. The plot is absolutely spectacular, and through the developement of it you can watch eragon grow up and develope as well. i would recomend this to everyone! Just one thing though, if you start reading it and havent read it before, the start of the first book is not quite as well written as the rest of the book. i went back and read it again and noticed it was not up to par with all the other books, but you have to keep in mind he was 15 when he wrote the beginning so...... less
