review 1: How does a returning vet from Iraq, trained to kill in a tension filled environment adopt to life in the US of A? Not well. Neal Maven is working as a parking lot attendant where he is held up. He is observed by another vet, Brad Royce, as Maven nearly kills the thief. Brad offers him a job where he can relive the excitement of his active duty, make lots of money and do good at the same time. Good thriller
review 2: I wanted to love this book, but it fell a little short for me at times. It was fast paced and full of action, but many of the characters felt a little flat, and at times, they were purely overblown stereotypes. I generally liked the main character Neal Maven, and had an emotional connection to him, but in the end, that wasn't enough for me to give ... morethe book a better rating. Overall it was a quick read, and kept me entertained, but with such a strong premise, and so much promise, I just wanted a little more. less
