review 1: My overall thoughts is that this is a good book and I love the premise of the story. Two warriors fight against much to protect a love that is forbidden. Tardon and Arianna risk life to save theirselves and their people.I grew up reading books with the names similiar to Tardon and Mardel, this book reminds me of that. I loved the story between Tardon and Arianna, it was a good build up to something great. But I also felt the story dragged through the middle of the story and things took a little too long to get told. Character development was excellent as well and Ms. Knight explains everything and everyone in rich detail, you miss nothing. You have here a wonderful fantasy tale. There are fierce warriors, vile creatures, and a love that survives it all.Book offered by ... moreauthor for honest review.SharondaSalaciousReads
review 2: Thanks to Knights of the Round Table for bringing this book to my attention and providing it for review. I have to say right off that I REALLY enjoyed it. The warrior culture with the forbidden areas drew me in quickly and the story twists kept me hooked. The inequality between the male and female warriors was an interesting tact. Tardon and Arianna seem doomed from the start, love is forbidden and yet they have managed to fall head on into it. Together they have to face huge issues .....What laws would you break to protect family and those you love? What would you sacrifice for the people you love? How far would you go to protect your people from the evils both in and out of the castle? And most importantly, how would react to finding out things are not what you have always believed they were? They have great chemistry and it was intersting to work together and at times against each other. My only complaint about Arianna was that she was very quick to distrust her instincts and Tardons words and actions, while quickly trusting the word of someone she hardly knew about Tardons actions and motives. That being said, I would recommend this book to Fantasy lovers who also enjoy a good romance. less
