review 1: I probably should have given this 3 1/2 starts if this were possible. The main story line only rated a 3 star with me-certain information to "solve the mystery" really wasn't known until near the end. Also, certain events near the end seemed too "coincidental". However, the main character was an author, and I got a real kick out of the discussions of her books-that I'd give four stars to. I wouldn't object to reading this author again, but I don't think I'll go looking.
review 2: This book made me laugh from the very first sentence. The main character writes trashy romance novels for a living, is fiercely loyal to her friends, was raised by a pool shark dad, and drinks champagne everyday because everyday without her ex is one worth celebrating. Although I ... morehad an inkling who the murderer was fairly early on (and I turned out to be right) I never did figure out the motive. This was a totally entertaining, quick read. less
