review 1: story line 4 out of 5 plot 5 out of 5 this book was amazing I don't even know where to begin when I picked up the first book I thought this book may not be my cuppa tea but then the more I read the more I like it. the story was very different from the regular BDS books I read it's more darker but then I got so accustomed to the characters it's impossible to stop I couldn't put it down so right after I finished the first one I picked up the second book and that one was even darker. but I highly recommend this duet. i cry because I didn't want the story to stop I wanted it to go on and on it was a beautiful ending:)!
review 2: I just couldn't put this book down, I am an evening reader mostly but I read this at every chance I had. Caleb is still a bastard even th... moreough the writer obviously wants us to like him and accept him more by revealing more of his past. I still like Livvie, she surprises me and her inner dialogue is interesting. Still, I don't see this as a romance or a love story,even though she killed for him and he set her free. Would I recommend this book to anyone, probably not unless I knew they could appreciate a book even if the subject is heart wrenching and deals with horrific acts such as rape,slavery,etc. Those people who judge others for being able to read such material and be able to give it a high rating, do not appreciate that this is because of the quality of the writing and story telling, no because we enjoy reading about rape. less
