review 1: I am liking this series the further I get into it. The story is intriguing and I love the characters. The romance is a little slow and nonexistent for my liking, but I have hopes it will get better as the story progresses. Ava, Peter, Eddie and Carl make quite a fun group and the messes they get into are so messy. Ava changes with each challenge she experiences and so does the dynamics of the group. I am so loving Peter and wish he would just kiss her already. It will be interesting to see where this journey will take all of them. On to the next book! :)
review 2: This is one of the best UF cheap series reads in ebook format. I think there are at least four out there and I am planning to read them all. It doesn't feel like a novella when you are done. There
... moreis quite a bit of meat on this bone. Ms. Farrell has created a heroine that I have fallen in love with. Taunt is darker than the first one which makes it more legit as an UF series. There is nice balance of humor and mystery. I like being inside Ava's head. She is a thinker who is growing in her determination to not be a victim. I am glad she now knows what she is and can move on from that state of confusion. The pity party seems to be over too. I like the cast of characters because each is flawed and not entirely trustworthy. I never know who is going to get busted for having done something underhanded behind Ava's back. She can't really catch a break with this crew -- Eddie I am looking at you dude.I am going with 4-stars because there was a little too much use of foreshadowing. For example, what did Ava spit out after she was shot? I am okay with most of the seeds of future novels but it can be overdone and in this case, it was. That needed to be resolved. If nothing else, Ava should have remembered because I sure will. less
