review 1: The writing is good,if not a little long winded. I just didn't warm to the main character, she is selfish, irresponsible, she basicly can't see past her own nose. I only read up to page 50, by which time I just had enough of her moaning about her working hours which she chooses to do because she "loves" her job despite the stresses. Her child, which she apparently also loves, despite never seeing her unless she is asleep, is not her top priority, she inseminated herself because she wanted to change her life at 30 but didn't want a relationship, yet she didn't foresee there no relationship stronger or more vital than a parent-child relationship, she isn't a parent in fact, she just gave birth and had someone else look after her child since maternity leave was over. She doe... moresn't work those hours to better her child's life because she was working the same hours before, she does her for her own self worth. So, with my little rant over, I couldn't carry on reading about how difficult it is to be a single parent and working.
review 2: 3.5 stars, I loved the storyline, I was enjoying the humour and was entertained, but on the run up to the 'reveal' I was completely hooked! it was written differently than what I thought, but I soon got over than, main problems with it was she used phrases like "thank you very much" loads of times in one chapter and one point it seemed to swap from a conversation with her sister to it being with Jake. also a tad too cheesey at one point. either way a fab love story and I'll definitely read more of her books! less
