Mystery Man
review 1: Not worth reviewing properly on my part as I don't have much to say on the matter. It may just be me having recently read a lot of classics and older novels but I instantly found this to be tedious and written in a dreadfully bland manner. Not to my taste but I can see why it has gotten the sort of good reviews that it has, as it is generally light-hearted but just not what I want from a book of its genre.
review 2: I liked a lot of this book. The main character is a neurotic, hypochondriac, and a racist. The last trait was generally well managed. I was drawn quickly into the world of No Alibis. I read the book quite quickly – which is a sign that I got into it. The story starts with two small episodes, one of which is used later. I also liked the idea of the
... more reluctant private eye being drawn into the world by circumstance. When the going starts getting tough our Mystery Man tries to get out. It is his partner, and girlfriend Alison, who keeps him on the case. To do carry-on, of course, and the do solve the mystery. less

A rather novel crime story, featuring a bookshop owner with ocd. Trying to solve some murders.
