review 1: One of the best dark erotica novels since Aleatha Romig's "Consequences" series and CJ Roberts' "Dark" series. This book is just as passionate and layered as Francette Phal's "Beautiful Disaster" books about Nicolas and Ellie. I stayed up through the night to finish this book! The plot has plenty of twists that involve plenty of broken and twisted characters. There are mind or psychological games being play that leave you uncertain who is good, who is evil, and whether anything is really ever morally right or wrong. This story is all about the grey, the shadows, and the moral ambiguities of our lives and decisions. It is also about trust (blind trust), risk and reward, and accepting our brokenness. This is a stand alone full novel that will have you re-reading it as soon... more as you finish so that you appreciate the complexity and nuisance of the nontraditional "love" story of Nikki and Eric.
review 2: Wow, what a brilliant book! Deliciously dark and tragic. Certainly not a 'run of the mill' dark story. It has so many twists and turns, it keeps you guessing right up till the end, a brilliantly well thought out, planned and written book. One of the best 'dark stories' i have read in a long time. It is dark and does deal with some deep and serious issues. It won't be to every ones taste, but in my opinion, i thought it was a great read! ;-) less

I started to feel like I was missing some of the story. All in all it came together at the end.
