review 1: When searching for this book to review it I happened across some other reviews and thought I'd read a different book. I'm not the world's most wild and crazy woman but I didn't find anything about the author's 'filthy mind' as one person complained about...might re-read as I obviously missed those bits! Also, saw a comment that nothing happened. It felt to me like a coming of age novel, just older than we're used to. Really enjoyed it, and although it didn't put me through the emotional wringer I don't feel the book lacking because of that. It was well told and amusing - laugh out loud funny in place so I really enjoyed it.
review 2: Fun and interesting setting and characters (though the names were more caricatures than I liked and almost had me reject the
... more story at the start). Alas, the random nature of events and a seeming lack of a coherent plot prevented this from truly coming together to be a solid book. The characters kept me reading to the end, but I can't grade it higher than 3 stars because the core story was as meandering and undirected as the POV character. less

The story line could not hold my interest. I really tried, but could not finish it.

This book was painfully bad. It's not often that I literally can't finish a book.
