review 1: This was actually fine. I read it with pleasure instead of with loathing for both self and text. Perhaps an unrepeatable advantage for this author was to be educated and write before 1950. The plot was reasonable; neither Kitty's nor Georgiana's de-riguer marriage felt forced; Lydia and Mrs. Bennett were absent, which is wise because inimitable; and though also inimitable, Mr. Bennett was in fine form; best of all, conversations between Darcy and Elizabeth rang truthyish.
review 2: i don't quite understand why this sequel has retained such a legendary status amongst austen fen. the writing isn't bad, but the story itself is predictable. and elizabeth calling darcy "fitz"? please. this edition definitely does a disservice to the author as it's riddled with e
... morerrors -- missing or randomly inserted punctuation, as well as erroneous and extraneous words -- that made reading a less than enjoyable task. less

Again a boring book that portrayed the original characters very badly in my opinion.

A pretty good premise, but a very slow (and not all Gothic!) story.
