review 1: Hell has an office complete with water cooler. Ironically, demons also use it as a hot spot for spreading gossip. I was disappointed Satan wasn't scarier, he was more like a businessman. A lame one. Delaney is a medium who helps spirits cross (only up, never down). She meets Clyde after he appears in her mind and interrupts a seance she is conducting. The ghost she is trying to speak to keeps getting pushed out of the way by pushy Clyde. Immediately, Delaney is irritated with him. That makes for some pretty fun banter between the two of them through the course of the story. Delaney and Clyde the demon end up working together to solve a series of mysteries which actually combine to form one big fat mystery. I enjoyed the shady parts about Vincent, how his name kept being br... moreought up but never elaborated on until almost the end. That kept me reading because dammit, I wanted to know what the story was. It would have been a better story if Lucifer weren't so dumb. And I don't mean stupid, I mean like he should have been scary, but he was a far cry from the evil, fear evoking, intimidating freakin' Devil.
review 2: Ijust don't know how to rate this book. I really really don't. Throughout the story I would've given this book a two but by the end, I decided on a 3 rating.Most people who started this series, loved it and laughed throughout.I must be the expection because I didn't have any of those feelings about this book. To be honest, I found myself bored and having to fight to finish. It's weird because this book has everything I usually love in a story. I will confess that I actually almost cried in a chapter near the end.The speech that Clyde gives, broke my heart.It was one of the sweetest confessions I've ever read in any book. I just wish the rest of the book followed suit. A sweet story that made a lot of people laugh, just not me. less
