review 1: I was lucky enough to be given the Audible version of this book for a review, and I have to say that it exceeded my expectations! I listen to Audible books daily, and a good narrator can really make or break the book, as far as I am concerned. In one instance, I was listening to a book by a very well known author whose books I always enjoy and had to quit towards the middle because I got so frustrated with the narrator, who would sometimes read the female's lines in the male's deep voice!! I gave up and just read the book! Happily, that is NOT the case in Deathwatch! The narrator did a good job of reading with just the right amount of emotion as well as with differentiating the voices of the characters, ensuring that I was able to be caught up in enjoying the riveting... more story without any distractions, and enjoy the story I did!Massage therapist Kate Bridges never thought she'd be attending her own funeral, but that is exactly what she is forced to do by the FBI when she is the only witness to the murder of an old friend by an infamous hit-man. As the only person who can identify him, her life has already been threatened once, and the FBI hopes Kate's funeral will draw the killer out. Their plan is almost too successful, however, and Kate is forced to flee on her own. A year and a half later finds Kate renting a house in Broslin, Pennsylvania, working as a waitress for a while before finding a new place to hide from the murderer, who is still on the FBI's "Most Wanted" list. Unfortunately for Kate, the home actually belongs to returning soldier and former cop, Murphy Dolan, who is as surprised as she is when he walks into his bedroom and finds Kate in his bed!Kate's troubled background makes it hard for her to trust, and Murphy is still suffering from shrapnel wounds in addition to some PTSD, and the author does a beautiful job of realistically developing their relationship. While there is certainly plenty of chemistry between them, Murphy is just an all-around great guy and I really liked that the romance between them doesn't just consist of them hopping into bed first and getting to know each other later! Can Kate learn to trust Murphy enough to tell him why she is so secretive, and if she does, can they stop the hit-man from achieving his goal of eliminating the only person who can positively identify him? Because although Kate has been running all this time, it looks like he may have finally found her.I just loved this book, and hated for it to end! There was plenty of suspense and at times I was almost afraid to hear what was going to happen next! Throw in several people who may or may not be the murderer or associated with the murderer and you have a spellbinding read or listen, with a plot twist that will surprise you! I've already recommended this book to several of my friends, in addition to buying up everything else by Dana Marton, and I would certainly recommend Deathwatch in either the Audible or written version!
review 2: I got it on my kindle it was a freebie, the plot sounded interesting and so I downloaded it. I'm glad I did, the book is just awesome with the thrill, suspense and romance. The story started with name of the book Deathwatch, as Kate is watching her own funeral. She is the only eye witness of a murder of her friend and she is the person who have seen the murderer, and that person knows that. He is after her to kill the only person who have seen him. Watching her funeral is the only option to catch the criminal. And he is not any street criminal but is wanted in many countries and what are the odds with her. After the failure to catch him at her own funeral she goes into hiding. Now she can't rely on FBI for her protection she takes matter into her hand and is on the run. On her hiding she find herself in a house of a soldier and a cop Murphy Dolan. They plan to catch the man because from many suspicious encounters they know he have found her and just in matter of a time he will kill her. But will he be able to catch him even FBI couldn't. You have to read it.I loved the story, loved the characters Kate and Murphy. A nice read and want to know what happened. In the end there is a note about them in other stories so can't wait to know.I so want to read other book in this series. I already know they are going to be awesome from the writing of the author as it totally hooked me. ( Few facts are wrong to avoid spoilers. ) less

The story dragged along in a couple parts, but a good suspense that had me guessing to the end.
