review 1: Have the tissues ready. Dani Atkins has done it again and created a visual feast for the reader. Ok, it wasn't quite as emphatic as 'Fractured', but then that was a quite special debut from this author. Nonetheless this is a love story which draws you in. The central character is Emma, who is caught between love and lust. Set against the backdrop of a huge disaster, the outcome kept me guessing. I was initially sceptical as I hadn't realised this was a story of love but I am secretly enjoying this genre. Dani writes in the first person and creates several plot strands to create a good understanding of the central characters. I found myself warming to Emma although she did doubt her own personal strength. The ending was clever. Never judge a book and all ... morethat.
review 2: i loved dani Atkins first novel fractured so much I gave it 5 stars. I was excited to begin this. at first I wondered if it was the same book or some sort of follow up. when I realised it wasn't I began to feel it was in no way as good as the first novel and entirely chic lit. disappointed I read on. neat little twist at the end but basically quite contrived. and and this is my pet hate... it finished at 83%!! less
