review 1: I hate to say anything bad about a book because I know I couldn't write one but this book was horrible! I felt like it was written by a junior high school kid. There were so many mistakes. A big example...In chapter 16. It started by talking about their first Valentine's Day together and 3 paragraphs later it says it was April. I read a lot of the reviews and people commented about being irritated with Holton for not making up his mind and taking so long to make a decision on his feelings for Elena but no one commented on what an immature girl Elena was with her attitude. One of Holton's hang ups was her maturity and she proved time and again she wasn't mature. This book just bothered me from beginning to end. I wondered at points why I was even bothering finishing it. I g... moreuess I was hoping it would get better.I will give one positive about the book since I have been so negative. I really like the flash backs that Holton had of him and Elena growing up together on his flight to see her after her accident. I wish rest of the book had been written that well. All in all I just felt this story was a make believe story a 13 year old would fantasy about and write down in her journal. I apologize to the author for my negativity. Like I said I know I could never write a book. I will try to read another of her books and give her a second chance. Maybe this one was a fluke.
review 2: I was asked to review and given a free copy of The Long Ride Home (Cowboys & Cowgirls) by Danielle Lee ZwisslerThis is a tale of a lifelong love and the journey Holton and Elena take to finally find their HEA (happily ever after). Elena has loved Holton her whole life and centres her whole existence on him. Holton, who is eight years older, can't commit to being with someone that much younger, despite his own long-term feelings for his “brat” neighbour. Through all the ups and downs of this hot and cold relationship, Elena and Holton's journey to find their HEA is what keeps the reader turning pages. It is a sweet, fast paced read with some spicy scenes. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a light read and enjoys a typical HEA love story. less
