The Christmas mail brings a card from home, from Percy’s mother and sister.

Today the Fifth Divisional Artillery is transferred back to the Canadian Corps (1) – “taken back into the fold,” to quote the Battery historian. (2) “In our relations … with the Imperial troops,” he wrote, “we always received excellent treatment, and were on the best of terms. When we left them to go back to the Corps they were very hearty in their acknowledgment of our artillery support, which increased our confidence that the 5th could uphold its name with any artillery in France.” (3)
