review 1: The book was interesting and kept my attention but about 3/4 of the way through the novel it switches genres. It went from being a mystery type novel to a supernatural novel. This didn't really bother me that much but I can see some of the other reviews here aren't so good and I think its probably because of that reason (switching genres 3/4 of the way through the book). If you're a person that likes mystery novels to have a concrete, logical conclusion and then all of a sudden the conclusion of the book turns out to be supernatural this is going to anger you.
review 2: Classic legal thriller. I have to say, the sophomoric dorm-room philosophy rings true, and the Indiana Jones- style booby traps and adventures are awesome. I just wonder if someone who hasn't be
... moreen to law school will be bored or confused by the legal talk. I guess everyone fancies themselves knowledgable in these things. The resolution is a little bit of a deus ex machina, literally, and could have used a better explanation, but that doesn't take away from the fun. Add this to the list of books I wish I'd written. It was fun! not at all realistic, no, but I doubt it was trying to be. Looking forward to more from Tobey. less
