It was a little too real. However, you immediately fall in love with Jesse. At the same time feel bad for Lauren and her life. What a wonderful book. I wanted to quit yet i couldn't. I had to find out what happened. 5 stars.
review 2: Wow, what a very intense book about a very touchy subject, abuse along with having some romance thrown in. An abusive Husband Alex trying to control his family so his job as a lawyer and public figure isn't tarnish. Alex does his best to try and control his family but his daughter Lauren meets a guy named Jesse who did a couple of jobs for Alex but then turned him down and told him no on the next one. Lauren and Jesse start dating while Alex is trying to get rid of Jesse because he knows too much about how he "runs" things. We find out in the end if Lauren & Jesse are together or if Alex wins out. less
