review 1: This book divulges forty tiny vignettes of micro- and macro-cosmic explanations of "possible" afterlives. From simply becoming Truman Show-esque actors masquerading in other peoples' lives to entering a world where everyone knows your name...because you knew all of them in your previous life. Death, "the great equalizer", is portrayed as a triumphant arena for human-kind as well as a null-and-void awakening that will last for eternity. Quick read.
review 2: I LOVED this book. Received as a gift from a friend a couple of years ago (thanks, Jada!) I finally got around to reading this collection of tales of the afterlife. Each story is very short - a few pages - and gives you a description of a different kind of afterlife. Sometimes there is a god, sometimes there
... more is not. Sometimes you suffer, sometimes you live again. Each tale is told as if completely true, and many of the tales contain a hint of irony or longing for a different afterlife. They will make you think, for sure. less

Poetic, thought-provoking and original. Some tales were more clever than others.
