review 1: I got this book free on Amazon & It didn't disappoint like some other freebies I've read. I didn't even know what it was about, a friend read it & suggested it to me; already having downloaded to my kindle, I started reading! I was a bit confused at the beginning, not knowing what the characters meant when they referred to others as 'Sensitive'; not having read the synopsis either, but as I read along, I started to understand. Read super quick and by the time I got to the end I was like "that's it? There has to be more." That's how much into it I got. Lark did annoy me at times with her mood swings of how she feels for Beck and all, but I got over it; her entire life is not what she thought it was, so I give her a break. I'm not sure if I would have been able to deal with ... moreit as well as she did while being "kept trapped" in a sense, so props to Lark for holding on as long as she did at Summer Hill house. I think most readers will enjoy this book as well as I did, so I recommend to all.
review 2: I really didn't know what I was getting myself into when I purchased this free book off amazon. But let me just tell you how happy am I that I did. Something about this book kept me on the edge of my seat. It's really long for an eBook but I finished it in no time. I read it without even reading the synopsis first so I didn’t even know what supernatural world I was getting myself into this time. Let me tell you more. This book takes place many years after what seemed like the end of civilization. The world was apparently under attack and only few places remained but were renamed. Lark and her soon-to-be-mate Beck are at a human school together. In a couple months they will be bound to one another. No one else in the school knows who their mate will be. The boys and girls are not allowed to hug, kiss or even touch. Lark and beck know that they will be mated because their parents are high ranking leaders. There are these people called the Sensitive. I was confused at first about what they were but it's just a fancy term for witches. They do the labour of the country and are not allowed near humans because of their power. A red wristband keeps them in place and also keeps the humans aware of what they are. These wristbands are irremovable. One day a group of Sensitives attack Lark and Beck. That was where the downward spiral begins!I couldn't believe the turn of events that came with this novel. Not only was it so thrilling to read, it was written very well. Minor grammar mistakes but the content was applaud-worthy. I just bought - yes BOUGHT - the second book. You read that correctly. That definitely means something. I will start it. Now. Right away.
