Rose Harbor
review 1: Jo Marie Rose provides a hospitable setting for troubled guests to work through their issues--in this case Mary Smith observes the graduation of the girl she gave up for adoption, and reunites with her former lover. Annie manages to pull off the celebration honoring the marriage of her beloved grandparents, and-surprise!- learns to see a former nemesis in a new light. Pleasant, but not distinguished. Cedar Cove fans may enjoy seeing a few old friends mentioned here, but if you have only seen the Hallmark series, there are a few spoilers. Read on kindle.

... more that everyone has you always find yourself reading everything they write. Sometimes they don’t write fast enough for me.I found myself awaiting this installment as I usually do. No complaints. A calgon take me away story. With old familiar characters that make you feel at home. You are a part of their lives and family. You become involved in the lives as they intertwine with each other and even those from other books; making you feel right at home. So grab a glass of sweet tea or wine, and curl up in your favorite chair for another really good book.Rose Harbor in Bloom, brings us back to the ‘The Inn at Rose Harbor’ which is next to Cedar Cove (which by the way, I can’t wait to watch the new TV series). We run into Jo Marie as she tries to adjust to life after the loss of her husband. Jo has some interesting people that show up at the Inn and this time is no exception. While getting ready for a 50th anniversary party a young couple reunites and find the love they once had. A woman left her love behind and has always wondered about him. Now trying to recover from cancer she comes to the Inn to rest. Then there is Jo dealing with a handyman who she seems to be developing feelings for and yet she is still coming to terms with the loss of her husband in the war.I always find warmth in Ms. Macomber’s characters. They make me feel as if I am a part of their lives. They are very real making you feels at home. I am able to transport myself from my own home to the Inn as I stay there as one of Jo’s guests. Jo makes you feel right at home I can even taste those Peanut Butter cookies or whatever kind she is making fresh from the oven. Always one to make strong woman, this tended to throw the men in the background as they seemed one dimensional. Kind of like an afterthought. I would have liked to see or have the men a little more involved but they seemed a little on the bland side not jumping off the pages.I like the overall aspect of the story but, for me it was a little blah but I still enjoyed the continuation of life with Jo at the Inn in Rose Harbor. Each story helps someone to heal in a very special place. Jo has a special place as she helps others she herself is healing. Heartwarming stories that once again pull you in and won’t let you go, helping you along the way.So maybe I will go make some mouthwatering PB cookies and try to patiently await the next book and see who Jo and the Inn are going to help heal this time. less
