review 1: This was another dollar store purchase and I got this one because it's always fun to read a sexy little romp from time to time. When I picked up this book I was ready to just zone out and not take things too seriously for a while. And luckily, this book allowed me to do just that. There were some vagueness, some weird twists and turns and decisions, and some bizarre dialogue (made ever more evident when my boyfriend decided to read me a chapter out loud... some things might sound ok in your head but when you hear them out loud you're like "who says things like that?") but all in all the book was a fun read. Especially if you don't take it too seriously. The author adds a nice element of gypsy magic to the book which allows the reader to buy into the hyper romantic and sexy ... moreworld and also provides a nice twist at the end. Little did I know that this was the third book in a three book series, which probably explains why a lot of characters and plot points were mentioned but never fleshed out. I was actually excited to learn there was a series, because I was sad to leave the characters at the end of the book. If anything, you fall in love with the innocence and silliness of it all.I give the book three stars, because it wasn't grandeur literature, it wasn't anything to write home about, nor was it anything that will shock, awe, and inspire your world. But it was an enjoyable read, one that I don't regret, and one that I plan on following up with by reading the other two books. And now for a little silliness of my own: Raven and Trevelyn, I hope your lives continue to be filled with love, quirkiness, and happiness. I enjoyed meeting you two and wish I could continue your story. But alas, we must part ways. I'll miss you but I will rest assured knowing you're sitting on my bookshelf!
review 2: A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing *****Deborah MacGillivray is a prolific writer, and this third book in her Sisters of Colford Hall Series is a delight. Once again she delivers characters that are so real they leap off the page, drama and light comedy diversified to an absolute delight! You will find you are crying one minute, laughing the next. And of course, the obligatory and adorable animal menagerie. This book features a one-legged seagull among other things. The story begins with an determined Trevelyn Merchan [disguised as Trevelyn Sinclair:] out to ruin Raven Montgomerie, a bright and beautiful and reclusive artist. Trev is finding it difficult to suppress his instinct to fall in love with the beauty, while Raven is fighting hard to keep her own attraction at bay. There is much to this story, twists and turns and love and laughter, delivered with the panache one would expect from an accomplished author such as MacGillivray.Highly recommended!Diane Davis White,Author, Moon of the Falling Leaves less
