review 1: Pretty cute, light and quick romance about a newspaper journalist for a small town newspaper who is writing a story about online dating and who conspires with one of her dates to set up a fake romance to help with the story but not get involved. he's agreeable because his sister has signed him up because he's too busy to date because of his restaurant. Of course nothing is easy despite their attraction for each other because Tyler's ex moves to town, Serena's estranged mother shows up, and Serena is offered her dream job in NY. The characters are nice but under-developed. The estrangement between mother and daughter has festered for years but seems to miraculously heal itself with just a few words, and love develops without a lot of set-up. It could have been really go... moreod if it had been longer, to have more time to really grow more realistically. Secondary characters could have been developed more fully also. I loved Serena's son Justin, but we see very little of him. Coworkers Will and Naoli could have been humorous foils, but they were also only briefly involved, and seemed more of a hindrance to the story and not the providing the fun they could have. There were some funny moments wi Tyler's family, but that happened very early in the book, and the rest didn't live up to that potential. Still an enjoyable fluff read..
review 2: This was a fantastic story!! I was in tears laughing so hard when Serena met Tyler's family and had to be "disgusting"! Then when her pillow started to "quake"! This was the first book that I read that literally had me laughing my butt off with tears! There were some tense moments in the story as well, and true to life that many can relate to. I will not provide any spoilers for this book. The story was well written and believable. The characters were down to earth which the reader can relate to. I seriously hope there will be others stories written by this author. less
