review 1: I've been fascinated with the idea on living smaller. Tiny houses with less stuff and smaller expenses present a way to live more simply. This memoir is a well written, interesting take on the subject.Dee Williams is someone I would like to know. Independent, but still engaged with others, a Superwoman (as indicated by her choice of underwear in a very funny incident. She seems to have a struck a nice balance between living her life in a meaningful way including building a great community and support system of friends. She is never preachy or judgmental about choosing to live a simple, manageable life. I came away feeling that she has a very fulfilling life regardless of living with only what is absolutely needed.I admire her for following through on a dream she had ... morefor herself. She built this house by herself with minimal assistance!!! I found this memoir to be uplifting and thought provoking. Dee Williams imagined her life and made it happen. That is a big accomplishment.Highly recommend.
review 2: The person, the life, and the patter of storytelling are quirky as hell and I kind of liked that. I get the stupid health stuff and wanting to keep it at arms length but then at the same time it makes you think about how you spend your days. I get feeling overwhelmed by stuff and the responsibility of "conventional" life to take care of it. I also get living with your tribe. But I wouldn't choose to live in a space that didn't have the necessities (plumbing mainly). There isn't independence here....she can't live without others and some thing about that bothers me (for me, not her). I love the simplicity, the ease, the lack of $$$ pressure, and am interested in something similar but less extreme and more independent. Overall, glad to have read this. less

After I lost count of the number of times she used "double dog dare," this book lost a star.
