review 1: Great book. So painful to watch this poor girl going through this inner battle. But it is not too hard to believe that there are truly souls who have fallen prey to these type of lies, as well as those who have overcome. I so appreciate Ms. Hunter's willingness to expose our bent toward the self-protection that brings our ruination without the interceding hand of God. We are our own worst enemy, aren't we? As my friend Matt Chandler says, nobody has screwed up your life more than you have.I have struggled with believing that God loves me all my life, though not to quite the extreme portrayed here. Books like these are a balm to my soul. Thank you.
review 2: This was a sweet love story. Very predictable but still had an element of surprise. I got a bit frustra... moreted with the main character but I knew it would turn out ok in the end. Interesting information and great descriptions. There was a little bit of religion and it seemed a bit heavyhanded towards the end but not overpowering the story. If you like love stories, you will enjoy this one.....no heavy sex either or it would be good for a YA book and would make a great chick flick movie. less
