A Fairy Tale Romance
review 1: I'm a sucker for fairytales and was really intrigued by a retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.Honey Stevens (our Goldilocks) is a realitor. She ends up in Redding, CA trying to buy a property for her boss. The sellers invite her to stay with them, but through a mix-up she ends up at their son's house instead. No one is home, yet they warned her they might be out, so she finds some dinner, breaks a chair, then finally settles into what she thinks is the guest room. Trevor Barron comes home to find his dinner gone, his chair broken, and a beautiful, but unknown woman sleeping in his bed. From there it's a romanitic comedy with obstacles to overcome, like the fact that Honey is already engaged (to a jerk!). It would have been better if she could have broken off tha... moret relationship sooner, preferably before she agreed to marry him. Otherwise, I loved Honey and Trevor together. I liked how they teased each other, and how he helped her when she was afraid of the water. I just loved seeing such a big masculine guy who was this sweet teddy bear inside. In the two weeks since I read this for the first time, I've been back and reading it over and over again. Diane Darcy has a new fan!I also loved how clean the romance was. Some pretty swoon-worthy kissing, but nothing else :)And yeah, I don't see what to cover has to do with the story at all.
review 2: This was a really cute read. I thought the Goldilocks elements were really cute, and it was fun to see how the fairy tale was woven into this modern setting. Honey was a likable character. She is a realtor and her boss has sent her to try and woo some new clients. She ends up in the wrong house by mistake. Trevor comes home to find a sleeping “goldilocks” in his bed. Oops. Honey is engaged when the story starts, I thought Christian was a loser and wish Honey would have seen that earlier and maybe had things over before she went on her trip. Although I guess they kind of were. Trevor on the other hand was really likable, all big and intimidating but really a teddy bear on the inside. They were cute together. I do wish we could have learned more about his sister Elizabeth and her situation, things kind of ended up in the air with her and I would have liked to know what happened. The book kind of reminded me of Marcia McClure books, which is always a good thing. This was my first book by Diane Darcy, but I look forward to reading more! (I didn't really like the cover, I don't think it matches the story...) less

A little more description of sensual kissing than I would like. A fun romance nevertheless.

Fun & light romance but the misunderstandings seemed a bit too contrived.
