The patient has no memory and cannot communicate, but based on the name Sampo, the doctor decides that the man is indeed Finnish, and helps him return to Finland. But is the man really a Finn? An examination of the meaning of language in a person's identity.
review 2: I liked the idea behind this book - a man wakes up after being injured in Trieste during WWII with no memory of who is in.
