review 1: Riotously funny, intelligent and just overall pretty darn good. Everything was just spot on with this story - characterisation, world building, plot, action, prose. The prose in particular was just so sharp, fluid, and beautiful; I had to revise my expectations upward as soon as I reached paragraph 5. The book never failed to live up to its early promise, and it just kept getting better and better. I loved it. Absolutely loved it!
review 2: I did not have high expectations, but this book was actually pretty good! It was incredibly engrossing right from the start. The author pulls you into a strangely believable world of elves and man and the prejudice that can ensue. It's also actually really sexy. Not in the SEX SEX SEX way, but in a intelligent, yet hot way. ... moreOf course, there was a good amount of sexytimes going on, but it was the strong leads that really pulled me into the story. Pretty interesting read if you like romance novels with a high fantasy element thrown in there, which I have to admit, I totally wasn't expecting when I started the book. All in all, I would give it a 3.5 rating. less
