review 1: I am going to start my review by mentioning that I am not much of a zombie fan. I tried watching 28 days and had to turn it off after about 10 mins. Strange because I am sure I. Would have loved it as a teenager but it would seem I no longer have the stomach for it. Anyway......Stu and Tomas were great characters and it is through their journey that we have the theoretical "what ifs" relating to the end of the world. I thought some of the other characters, like Melanie and Tana, could have been expanded on to aid in the horror of the situation but as it was I didn't really enjoy the way it ended. I am not saying there needed to be a different ending necessarily but that it seemed to end in a strange place.
review 2: I just finished this book in 2 days because I
... more couldn't put it down! The characters were well-developed and likeable (except the ones you loved to hate and couldn't wait to read of their imminent deaths), the imagery was enough to give me nightmares that had me waking up in a heart-pounding sweat, and the deaths of main characters made me weep. While the concept that the world could continue to exist without sunlight is highly unbelievable, the story is gripping and edge-of-your-seat exhilarating. I read so voraciously that I rarely take the time to review a book, but this one had me running to my computer to share. If you like zombie apocalypse storylines, this is definitely worth every minute it takes to read it. Hats off to Donna Burgess! less
