review 1: When I first started reading this I thought it was very similar to the BODY MOVERS series and almost lost interest. I'm glad I didn't. While both series have characters with part-time jobs as salesclerks, and both discuss high-end designer purchases, Haley Randolph is a great character on her own right. I enjoyed reading this series because of the humor and found the pages turning quickly. The plot might not be the most developed one I have ever read but there were enough twists that it kept me reading. I will definitely continue reading this series.
review 2: This is book 1 in the Haley Randolph Mystery series. Haley Randolph has a thing for designer handbags. She has a day job at a law firm and has had to take a part time job at a department store becaus
... moree she has overdrawn her bank account and needs to earn some extra money. Things turn bad when she discovers the dead body of the assistant store manager in the stockroom and she is considered a suspect in the case. Things turn even worse when she is escorted out of the law firm on unpaid leave pending an investigation. Haley will have to help solve the case at the store as well as try to clear herself with the investigation at the law firm.I've been wanting to read this series for quite some time. I will admit that for most of the book I found Haley to be rather unlikeable and had a hard time relating to her. She is still young-in her twenties-but I got exasperated with her over spending and her laziness at work. Towards the end of the book she realized some of her flaws and appears to want to change her life. I did enjoy some of her antics and laughed a few times throughout the story. This was a quick read that held my attention even though I did figure out who the killer was but still enjoyed the story leading up to the reveal. I hadn't entirely figured out what was going on at the law firm but Haley figures it out, with a little help from Ty that will prove her innocence. At the end of this book the author left a lead in to what I believe will be the next book in the series.I received this book free through GoodReads First Reads in exchange for an honest review. less
