review 1: I liked it overall, though it isn't a particularly profound story.Its mostly a mystery with vampires and paranormal stuff thrown in. I like the author's writing style, just enough detail to be believable but not too much to be boring. This is the 2nd book in the series by the same author and I have not read the 1st. I may or may not read it but I will probably read the 3rd, when it comes out.
review 2: I really like this series. It's a different take on paranormal with a strong female protagonist. There is a lot of action and very little emphasis on romance. I like the characters, although Mel's boyfriend Ted Goodnight (really Goodnight) is just a little too nice and understanding. Can't wait for the next one.
