review 1: The first person narration failed to create a unique voice for Jane and I found myself bored through much of the story. While a few of the twists were interesting, none was particularly surprising. Some of the minor characters were more interesting than the main ones and I didn't feel drawn to the narrator. The humor fell short too often and some attempts were flat. A great concept but the delivery was weak.
review 2: I love different versions of fairy tales so when I saw this book on the Nook sale list, I couldn't resist. I loved it! It was a humorous, quick read that was utterly delightful. The Evil Queen has been arrested for the attempted murder of Snow White. She is sentenced to a rehab facility known as Faraway. There she meets a cast of storyboo
... morek characters that all have their own issues with overcoming evil. After serving her time, she must go to another stage of rehabilitation, one that is supposed to help her to re-acclimate to her former life (minus the evil, of course). A whirlwind of activity ensues and leaves you with that all-comforting fairy tale feeling. I immediately had to purchase the second book to see if it was a witty as the first. less
