review 1: Awesome!I am so glad I got the opportunity to read a book by Elena Aitken and only sorry I haven’t done so early. Nothing Stays in Vegas was such a great book you didn’t want to put it down. It was a story of a women, Lexi, and her best friend, Nicole, going to Vegas for a girls week-end. Lexi meets a good-looking man, Leo, who does what every women wants, swept her off her feet by listening to her and telling her beautiful she is so she does what everyone in Veges does a one-night stand. But for her and him it wasn’t a one-night stand in their hearts. When circumstances happen beyond their control, they don’t see each other again for many years. The author does a marvelous job of switching from Lexi and Leo in narrating the story. It keeps the story moving and in... moreteresting in getting both characters thoughts. Also, all of the characters in the book are so well developed you feel like you know them personally and laughed and cried with them. One caution, if you are a romantic you will totally fall in love with Leo!!!
review 2: I enjoyed this book. It is sort of a predicable, "fluffy" read. The story begins in Vegas, when Lexi is in Vegas for her friend Nicole's birthday. She meets Leo, they have a connection and sparks fly. The only problem is, she's married, and when she gets back home her estranged husband is waiting for her and asks to have her back.Flash forward six years. Lexi is miserable in her marriage and has a child. And she hasn't stopped thinking about Leo since the day they were together. Then her friend gets engaged. In Nicole's own dramatic, selfish way, she decides they should run off to Vegas and get married...Taking Lexi and her husband with them.Of course she runs into Leo...And there is a hilly (and sort of drawn out process) before...Well, you can probably guess.I like how the author creates this great connection between Lexi and Leo, but I do have a hard time with the whole unprotected sex thing (for people who 'don't do this much' they take a chance that seems out of character). I can look past a lot of things, which you kind of have to in this story, because it's a bit unbelievable. I also feel like the story sort of goes downhill a bit, and gets slow after the second Vegas trip. I also feel like since the child is more involved, the romance and connection starts to fizzle a bit. There's also a lot more spelling and grammatical errors, sort of like the editor rushed through at a certain point.Overall though it was a good story, just not one I would read again. less
