review 1: A very intense amazing read.Poor Paisley really had a shitty family life that she no longer remembers love or happiness. Her sister Caroline's main goal in life is to make her younger sister the family crap pot by spreading lies and abuse. Caroline finally finds a man rich enough and stupid enough to believe everything she says to marry and bring him home. James really is a smart man he just doesn't use it when dealing with Caroline.......really you can't believe everything a person says without looking deeper. When Paisley meets James she knows he is the one and so does he. You can understand Paisley's anger and pain when James hides from them being destined soul mates and believes her sister's lies. Paisley really believed this is her man(her knight) and he is goi... moreng to love and protect her.....and when he proves her wrong more pain and disillusionment follow. So really you can understand a hurt 18 year old taking some revenge. Then years later a more mature drug-free Paisley returns seeking to make things right showing that she really is the more mature adult.This really ends up being an intense emotional heartbreaking wonderful read......you just want to cry and then slap her family for all the pain they caused.
review 2: 2.5 stars. The description really drew me in but it just didn't capture me how I thought it would. I think it has major potential but the story was just too unrealistic for me. When I read a book I like to feel like I can see this happening to me, like I could put myself in the story. I just couldn't do that with this book, it's too out there, too much ridiculous drama that I couldn't see unfold in real life the way it did in the story. I think that's what ruined it for me, I just kept thinking, "Yeah right, no way that's how it would go down in real life." Nor have I ever met such colorful characters. I think if it were toned down and a few things happened differently then it would have gotten a higher rating. The storyline really can be a good one, I just think it crossed over into Jerry Springer territory. I think the author was great and it was well written, it was just story itself. less
